IMMUNION

Improving IMMunisation cooperation in the European UNION

IMMUNION is an EU co-funded project which strengthens collaboration between healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to communicate evidence-based information about vaccination and increase vaccine confidence and uptake. It works closely with the Coalition for Vaccination, a group of European associations of healthcare professionals and student associations in the field of health and vaccination. They support delivering accurate information to the public, combating myths around vaccines and vaccination, and exchanging best practices on vaccination and aim to build vaccine trust and thereby help increase vaccine uptake.

VAX-TRUST

Addressing vaccine hesitancy in Europe

VAX-TRUST examines vaccine hesitancy as a broad societal phenomenon. They understand that many individuals have doubts about vaccination and that healthcare professionals may question scientific evidence and recommendations on vaccinations. They value different perspectives and are interested in the societal factors that shape beliefs and attitudes towards vaccinations in current-day societies.

RIVER-EU

Reducing Inequalities in Vaccine uptake in the European Region - Engaging Underserved communities

Health system barriers in vaccine uptake disproportionately affect specific ethnic, religious or cultural minorities across Europe and are therefore a major contributor to low vaccine uptake in these groups. RIVER-EU aims to identify and remove these barriers, specifically focusing on MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination in selected underserved communities (migrant community in Greece, Turkish females and Moroccan females in the Netherlands, Ukrainian minority in Poland and Roma

RISE-Vac

Reaching the hard-to-reach: Increasing access and vaccine uptake among the prison population in Europe

RISE-Vac aims to improve the health of prison population in Europe by promoting vaccine literacy, enhancing vaccine offer and increasing vaccine uptake.

AcToVax4NAM

Access to Vaccination for Newly Arrived Migrants

AcToVax4NAM aims to improve the health system’s Vaccination Literacy (VL) and vaccination access by making access conditions more equitable and guaranteed, thereby leading to increased vaccination uptake by Newly Arrived Migrants (NAM).

ImmuHubs

Reducing transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases

Immuhubs aim to establish proactive partnerships with citizen groups, public health agencies, key stakeholders and the general public to improve access to vaccination in disadvantaged, isolated, and difficult to reach population groups in 6 European countries, according to best practices for community partnerships. They will create innovative immunisation actions, which will increase vaccine uptake across borders, generations and population groups and develop sustainable solutions for vaccine protection of EU citizens, including during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

VxTrain

ECDC training in the area of vaccination and vaccine hesitancy for primary healthcare professionals

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) are working to develop training courses aimed to strengthen the public health capacity in Europe to respond to the challenges encountered in the area of vaccine hesitancy and communication around vaccination.
